The Problem – Business Management and Shrinkage
The CEO of Harley-Davidson of New York City wanted an effective
business management solution that would enable real time monitoring and control of customer and employee traffic throughout the facility. In his words, “I needed a system that allows me to monitor the performance of my employees while also tracking customer movement to help improve my bottom line.”
Additionally, the business was suffering from shrinkage in the
warehouse, shop and retail areas of the dealership. “Harley Davidson motorcycles are highly coveted. Because of this, the parts and accessories carry a premium – that premium translates into a high incentive for theft,” says CEO, Abraham Jacobi.
“We had an existing video surveillance system, but the technology was
outdated and was not integrated into other aspects of our business. We searched high and low for a systems integrator that understood the issues of retail dealerships and could offer us a state of the art system and back it up with service that is second to none. That's why we chose AISG.”
The Solution – AISG and Honeywell
An AISG systems engineer consulted with the client to come up with a
complete solution to address the core concerns – business management and shrinkage. During consultation, the engineer and lead technician learned the customer had a high interest in sophisticated on and off-site live monitoring and integrated access control. Following a number of meetings, the AISG team came up with a total solution to address all of Harley-Davidson of New York City's needs and wants.
They came up with a package including a Honeywell Access Control System throughout the facility, integrated with a CCTV video surveillance system consisting of two Honeywell Fusion 16-channel 480 frame DVRs fed by 32 cameras throughout the entire dealership; two Honeywell Rapid Gold PTZs, and 30 high resolution mixed indoor outdoor cameras. Every corner of every sensitive area was covered and linked back to a central monitoring executive suite, including live remote viewing.
The Result - Success!
